Each commission begins with a conversation, about your dog, who they are and how best to capture their character and spirit.
Every dog is a one-of-a-kind soul, a unique individual. Whether they’re playful and bold, serene and wise or just plain bonkers, our shoot together will reflect what makes them special. This is why my sittings and my portraits are carefully planned with you to create a result tailored to reflect their personality and your bond.
Sit! What’s
involved?
Preparation
A consultation in person or via Zoom/Teams etc. to understand who your dog is and your relationship so we can plan the session and choose the kind of style you feel is right for you and the portrait.
The Sitting
I put no time limit on my sittings, they take as long as they take. Most sessions are around 4 hours from arriving to packing up, sometimes shorter and often longer.
I never try to rush things, it never works. I like to begin very calmly and quietly to allow your dog to get used to me, the camera and any lighting.
The majority of my commissions take place in the dog’s home, garden or sometimes the surrounding environment if that is what is wanted.
Studio shoots are available for an additional cost to cover the studio hire.
After the sitting is completed, I edit the images and create a shortlist of the best from which you can make your print selections.
Once you have selected your favourite images they are graded and retouched ready for printing.
